Z-Insight helps you understand SAP systems that have grown over time and plan the next steps on a sound basis. The analysis links custom developments to their business context and makes the need for action visible – for S/4HANA, modernising the code and day-to-day operations.
Where Z-Insight supports you
What do you need to decide before the project, and where do you start? Z-Insight compares the measured usage with SAP Best Practices and shows simplification items with concrete replacements. The result: effort in person-days with the assumptions disclosed, and a conversion worklist without duplicates.
Which adjustments make sense, and what has priority? Z-Insight assigns your custom code to the clean core levels A to D, based on SAP's release data and also for ECC. The result: scenarios with effort – from "only remove level D" to "fully ABAP Cloud" – and the value potential with the calculation disclosed.
How do you keep track of changes and their effects? Z-Insight links runtime errors to the Z object that caused them, the transport or customising change before it and the affected process. The result: documented chains of causes and, after every transport import, a report on new S/4 blockers and severe findings.

Initial question: How far is the system from S/4HANA – and where does the effort lie?
Insight: The cockpit condenses the scan into a few key figures, here for example S/4HANA readiness with five blockers, technical debt in person-days and disrupted interfaces.
Decision: The blockers go on the conversion worklist, the effort with disclosed assumptions into the planning. The next scan confirms the items that have been completed.
How to get started with Z-Insight
In a demo on a fully populated demo system, with no preparation required on your side. Together, we classify your request.
We discuss which system is to be examined, the scope and the connection: a technical user with read authorisations and an activated ICF service.
After an agreed scan, we discuss the assessment report with a management summary, process map, effort and action plan – and the next steps.
Clarity about access and data
Read-only access. Z-Insight reads via the SAP standard service for SOAP-RFC over HTTPS and only calls released, read-only function modules – without a transport, agent or installation in the SAP system. User, role, HR and bank data remain blocked. Corrections are suggestions: they are imported by your developers under their own SAP user.
AI is optional. Without an AI provider, Z-Insight delivers rule-based results in the same format. With AI, you choose the provider – up to a model in your own data centre – and whether source code is sent. SAP user names are pseudonymised beforehand.
Operations of your choice. Z-Insight runs in your data centre, in your cloud, on SAP BTP or with us, in which case the application and data are hosted in Frankfurt am Main. SAP ECC and S/4HANA on-premise or private cloud are analysed in full; S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and SAP BTP with a different scope via released interfaces.

What prerequisites do we need to create to get started?
For the demo, none – it runs on our demo system. For the analysis of your system, your Basis team sets up a technical user with read authorisations, activates the ICF service for SOAP-RFC and enables HTTPS access; Z-Insight generates the proposed role. With RISE, this also works via SAP BTP and the Cloud Connector, without opening the firewall.
Which of our SAP environments can we have examined?
Z-Insight fully analyses SAP ECC 6.0, S/4HANA on-premise and S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition (RISE): code, customising, transports, runtime errors, interfaces, usage and document flow. With S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, runtime errors and customising are not directly accessible; document flow, processes and ABAP Cloud code are examined. Development and test systems are only suitable to a limited extent because usage and runtime errors are not representative there.
How is our data processed?
Z-Insight reads structures and key figures, not master data or invoice content; user, role, HR and bank data are permanently blocked. If we run Z-Insight for you, the application, database and storage are located in Frankfurt am Main. AI functions are optional: you see in advance what would be sent, and you send source code in full, only in excerpts or not at all.
How does Z-Insight complement our existing tools?
ATC, the Readiness Check and the Custom Code Migration app deliver findings. Z-Insight links them to usage, runtime errors, transports and customising; existing results can be imported and compared. It is a complement, not a replacement. Actions can be handed over to Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow or SAP Cloud ALM.
What happens in the demo, and what would be the next step afterwards?
The demo takes about an hour and shows, on a fully populated demo system, the path from the process map through the cause of a disruption to the assessment report. Insights into your own system only come from an agreed scan; afterwards, we discuss the report and a sensible starting point. If you already use Z-Insight, sign in at zinsight.realcore.de.
